Explore South East Queensland

Discover the wild beauty of SEQ — its trails, peaks, islands and hinterlands, all in one place.

South East Queensland is one of Australia’s most diverse outdoor destinations, offering everything from ridge-line climbs to island beaches and lush hinterland walks.

Below, you’ll find the four regions that define the SEQ experience, each packed with their own trails, campsites, viewpoints and weekend escapes.

MORETON BAY ISLANDS

Moreton Bay’s trio—Bribie, Moreton, and Stradbroke Islands—offers calm beaches, rich Indigenous heritage, sand dunes, and wildlife encounters. From Bribie’s accessible shores to Moreton’s towering dunes and Straddie’s surf and lakes, each island delivers a distinct coastal escape.

SUNSHINE COAST HINTERLAND

The Sunshine Coast hinterland blends lush forests, rolling green hills, and charming village life.  Rainforests, waterfalls, and walking trails invite exploration, while local markets and cafés highlight fresh regional produce.

SCENIC RIM

The Scenic Rim is a breathtaking region of mountains, valleys, and volcanic peaks in South-East Queensland. Known for its national parks, waterfalls, and hiking trails, it’s a haven for nature lovers and adventure seekers.

GLASS HOUSE MOUNTAINS

The Glass House Mountains rise dramatically from the Sunshine Coast hinterland, their volcanic peaks creating a striking skyline. Rich in Aboriginal history and legend, the area offers walking trails, lookouts, and rock-climbing adventures.
