About Me

My story where it all began..

My Mission

G’day, I’m Nico — the explorer behind Bush to Coast.

I live on Bribie Island, my own little piece of paradise in South East Queensland. Most weekends, you’ll find me out exploring the nearby trails, setting up camp, or chasing another sunrise somewhere in this beautiful region I’m lucky to call home.

This blog began after realising there wasn’t much first-hand info out there about the incredible outdoors in our backyard — so I decided to create it myself.

Bush to Coast is part travel journal, part practical guide — a place where I share personal experiences, trip ideas, and inspiration for anyone keen to explore SEQ’s wild beauty. From how to safely summit Mount Tibrogargan, snorkelling the world-renowned Tangalooma Wrecks on Moreton Island, to camping packing tips and pet-friendly stays in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, you’ll find stories and guides built from real adventures.

From the Glass House Mountains to the Scenic Rim, the Sunshine Coast Hinterland to the Moreton Bay islands, this blog is all about authentic adventures, honest stories, and helping others get outdoors with confidence.

Whether you’re into hiking, camping, or simply escaping the city for a breath of fresh air, I hope this space helps you discover new places — and reminds you how special our corner of Australia truly is.

So stick around, grab your boots, and let’s see where the bush meets the coast — together.

Nico
